Fenugreek

(Trigonella Foenum-Graecum)

What is it?

Fenugreek has been used as a culinary herb and as a medicine since ancient times. It has expectorant, demulcent, vulnerary, anti-inflammatory, anti-spasmodic, and blood pressure-lowering actions. It also increases the flow of milk in nursing mothers.

What it does in the body

Fenugreek is used to treat sore throats, bronchitis and to improve digestion. It is also recommended for menopausal women.

Cautions

Fenugreek should not be used during pregnancy.
