Calendula

What is it?
Calendula, which is commonly known as marigold, can be used in salads, in skin creams or in medicines. It has anti-inflammatory, antibacterial, antifungal and wound-healing properties when used externally. It also eases muscle spasm and is a useful digestive remedy.
What it does in the body
Calendula is used both internally and externally to treat many conditions including wounds, inflamed lymph nodes, varicose veins, skin ailments, gastritis and ulcers. It can also be used to treat menstrual problems.
